Living a Spirit of Leadership

Within each of us is a spirit that drives us to be leaders. Whether we are consciously aware of it or not, this spirit works to help us realize our fullest potential in life, both in our personal life and in our life at work. With this spirit, people of all ages, backgrounds, and with all types of life experiences can lead others in accomplishing extraordinary results. We have partnered with Pfeiffer Publishing to bring you two outstanding leadership programs: The Leadership Practices Inventory and The Leadership Challenge. These programs enhance and develop your leadership skills.

Leadership Practices Inventory - 1 Day

The one day Leadership Practices Inventory workshop introduces The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership based on the original and proven research of best selling authors Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner. This workshop gives the participant a general knowledge of the Five Practices: Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable/Equip Others to Act, and Encourage the Heart. The workshop includes a 360-degree online assessment instrument that is one of the most widely used leadership assessments available. More than 250,000 leaders and nearly one million observers have completed it. In the workshop we review the results of the assessment and develop action plans to improve leadership skills. The Leadership Practices Inventory workshop is also prework for The Leadership Challenge, where the participant has more in-depth learning about the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership.

What the participants will receive:

  • An experiential workshop that focuses on The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership and the Leadership Practices Inventory Assessment.
  • A 360-degree online assessment instrument.
  • The LPI Assessment Report, which includes all the processing, scoring and confidential feedback from the 360-degree online assessment.
  • Leadership Practices Inventory Participant's Workbook.
  • Leadership Practices Inventory Leadership Development Planner Workbook.
  • The Leadership Challenge (4th Edition) textbook.

At the end of the program the participants:

  • Can assess the frequency with which they practice leadership behaviors in each of the Five Practices: Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable/Equip Others to Act, and Encourage the Heart.
  • Be able to identify what gets in the way of developing and demonstrating leadership behaviors.
  • Will know which leadership behaviors their observers see as strengths and which are areas for improvement.
  • Have prepared a Leadership Development action plan for working on the behaviors in their areas of improvement.
  • Commit to a plan for sharing their LPI results with their observers.

The Leadership Challenge - 2 Days (The LPI Workshop is a prerequisite to this workshop)

The Leadership Challenge is a two-day workshop for leaders who want to get extraordinary things accomplished. This workshop is a continuation of The Leadership Practices and focuses on each of the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership in detail. The Five Practices are: Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Way, Enable/Equip Others to Act and Encourage the Heart. Each participant's Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) is the basis for reviewing and developing actions to strengthen leadership behaviors. Research shows that people are significantly more satisfied with the actions of their leaders when they demonstrate these Five Practices.

What the participants will receive:

  • An experiential workshop that includes facilitation, individual and group activities, and contemporary video case examples.
  • The Leadership Challenge Workshop Planner.
  • Values Cards.
  • In-depth learnings about the frequency with which they practice the Leadership behaviors in their personal and professional lives.

At the end of the program participants will be able to:

  • Model the Way by clarifying their personal values and aligning their actions with their values.
  • Inspire a Shared Vision and enlist others to share the vision.
  • Challenge the Process by searching for new opportunities and taking risks through experimentation.
  • Enable/Equip Others to Act through promoting cooperative goals and strengthening others by sharing power.
  • Encourage the Heart with appreciation for individual and team excellence and celebrating values and victories.
  • Begin taking the actions in their Leadership Development Plan and apply The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership to current business challenges.
  • Commit to sharing their Action Plan with their observers.

To fully complete their Leadership Development Action Plan we suggest participants follow up with individual and/or group sessions. We are committed to the success of our clients and we develop customized programs to satisfy our client's needs.
